The Miracles Around the Miracle
Series: Easter
The resurrection of Christ is the greatest miracle of the Bible – both because of what happened, and because of the significance of that event for the Christian faith. However, in our rush to get to the resurrection, we sometimes miss the other significant things that happened around the crucifixion & resurrection of our Lord.
When you look at the details from each of the Gospel writers, in addition to the resurrection itself, there are 6 other miracles that took place around the same time which merit consideration. Add to that Jesus’ numerous post-resurrection appearances and you have a series of wonderful testimonies to the power of God and the significance of the resurrection.
Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God. Our living Lord can forgive your sins and give you everlasting life!

Apr 2, 2023When the Crowd Greeted the KingSeries: EasterAs we come up on Easter there is a critical question which has been asked and needs to be answered. It’s not a riddle, but it has been called a mystery. The answer to the question is vitally important, because it will directly impact a person’s future. It is a question Jesus asked His disciples, and it’s the same, unspoken question that people were faced with at a parade nearly 2000 years ago. Simply stated the question is, “Who is Jesus?”Luke’s account of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem before His arrest and crucifixion shows us a variety of answers to the question, “Who is Jesus?” Let's consider the answers illustrated by the people who were there, how Jesus answers the question, and then talk about people’s answers today.Jesus is the King who came in peace & will come again in power.Luke 19:28-44Palm SundayApr. 2, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.

- Mar 19, 2023The Glorious Goal of the Gospel
Mar 19, 2023The Glorious Goal of the GospelSeries: RomansThe Gospel, God’s Good News, touches and impacts every part of the Christian faith. It is the one tool God uses to fix everything – a kind of spiritual multi-tool. God uses it to do a variety of things, as Paul shows us in his closing verses of Romans: 1) God uses the Gospel to establish His people; 2) God uses the Gospel to Proclaim His Son; 3) God uses the Gospel to reveal His mystery; and 4) God uses the Gospel to display His glory.Give glory to God who saves us according to His Good News.Romans 16:24-27Mar. 19, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.

Mar 12, 2023Keeping an Eye Out for Ear-TicklersSeries: RomansNone of us like being lied to, especially when someone lies in order to take advantage of us. Perhaps we have come to expect less than ethical behavior when it comes to car dealerships, used car salespeople, and telemarketers. Where we don’t expect to find that sort of behavior, however, is in the church. Yet, it happens there as well, usually being found in the words of false teachers.False teachers have been a problem in the church since day one. As Paul draws near the end of his letter, 1) he warns us to steer clear of smooth-talking false-teachers; 2) he follows that up with an encouragement to continue growing in obedience and discernment, and 3) he finishes up by reminding us to trust God to give us the final victory.Carefully consider the truth of everything you are taught.Romans 16:17-20Mar. 12, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.
- Mar 5, 2023Don’t Go to Church, Be the Church
Mar 5, 2023Don’t Go to Church, Be the ChurchSeries: RomansThe church is more than just a building or a denomination. In fact, the Greek word for church literally means “assembly” or “called-out ones.” Some people have this mistaken belief that church is something you go to for an hour or so on Sunday mornings. The truth is, you don’t just go to church, you are the church! Church is the people, not just the place. The majority of the final chapter of Romans is taken up with Paul’s personal greetings to a number of people. Many of these people are unknown to us outside of their mention in these verses. But, I believe there is much more we can glean from Paul’s greetings. 1) Paul’s Greetings Reveal the Diversity of the Church; 2) Paul’s Greetings Reveal the Unity of the Church; 3) Paul’s Greetings Reveal the Activity of the Church. The church consists of ordinary people, doing extraordinary work in Christ.Romans 16:1-16+21-23Mar. 5, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.

Feb 26, 2023Share Your PrayerSeries: RomansIn the final paragraph of Romans 15 Paul asks for prayer, and briefly prays for his readers. These verses show us 3 things about prayer: 1) Prayer can sometimes be a struggle; 2) Our prayers should be specific; 3) Our prayers should be subject to God’s plan.Commit to share and pray specifically for the needs of one another.Romans 15:30-33Feb. 26, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.

Feb 19, 2023Planning to ParticipateSeries: RomansIn Romans 15:22-29, Paul takes a few verses to outline his travel plans for his readers (Jerusalem, Rome, and finally Spain). These verses also suggest 6 principles we should remember when making our plans: 1) Sometimes Our Plans Don’t Pan Out; 2) Sometimes God Moves Our Ministry; 3) Hold Your Personal Plans in an Open Hand; 4) Seek to Minister to Both Material & Spiritual Needs; 5) Follow Through on What You Said You’d Do; 6) God’s Plans Always Come to Pass.God’s purposes prevail, even when our plans fail.Romans 15:22-29Feb. 19, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.
- Feb 12, 2023Ministry Motivation
Feb 12, 2023Ministry MotivationSeries: RomansWe generally have a reason for doing the things we do, maybe even multiple reasons. We go to work to earn money to support ourselves, and hopefully because we enjoy what we do. Maybe you exercise to keep fit, and perhaps because you like the activity itself. What about in terms of ministry? What is it that encourages us to serve God with the gifts and abilities He’s given us? In Romans 15 Paul describes his ministry, and in doing so, provides us with some universal ministry motivations. These are the things we need to remember as serve the Lord: 1) God is the one who equips us for ministry; 2) Our ministry should result in praise & worship of God; 3) Our ministry is empowered by Christ; 4) We need to aspire to accomplish all that God calls us to do.Humbly give God the glory for His gracious ministry in and through you.Romans 15:14-21Feb. 12, 2023To watch the video of this message, click here.
